What is KlarVPN?

KlarVPN is a privacy-focused VPN app that routes your internet traffic through an encrypted VPN tunnel. It helps protect your connection on public Wi-Fi, hides your real IP address from websites and networks, and shows a KlarVPN IP instead.

KlarVPN is built around a private tunnel model. Instead of relying on crowded shared VPN infrastructure, your account gets its own dedicated tunnel configuration. This keeps the product simple for everyday use while keeping the privacy message clear: private tunnel, no traffic logs, and a transparency dashboard you can check inside the app.

Before you start

  • Install KlarVPN and open the app.

  • Use an email address you can access. You will use the same account on your personal devices.

  • Allow the OS VPN permission when prompted. KlarVPN cannot connect until OS allows the VPN profile.

  • Start with Fastest Location unless you specifically need another country or city.

Onboarding: learn what KlarVPN protects

When you open KlarVPN for the first time, the onboarding flow introduces the main privacy promises of the app before setup begins. Tap Continue or Get Started as you move through the screens.

What the onboarding messages mean

  • Your own private tunnel: KlarVPN creates a dedicated tunnel configuration for your account and routes your traffic through that tunnel when connected.

  • No traffic logs: KlarVPN does not store browsing history, packet content, destination websites, or DNS queries for your sessions.

  • Transparency you can verify: the app includes a dashboard that shows your session count and confirms that traffic logs are not kept.

These screens are meant to set expectations before you create an account and allow the VPN profile. The setup only needs to be completed once on a device unless you sign out, reinstall the app, or recreate the VPN configuration.

Set up the VPN profile

KlarVPN needs permission from your OS before it can create a VPN connection. This is a normal security step. It lets your device route internet traffic through KlarVPN when you choose to connect.

Set Up Your VPN

VPN permission

Steps

1. Tap Get Started after the onboarding screens.

2. On the Set Up Your VPN screen, tap OK.

3. When your OS asks whether KlarVPN can create a VPN connection, tap Always Allow.

4. Wait while KlarVPN creates the VPN profile. The app may show a setup progress state while this happens.

Important

Do not deny the VPN permission if you want to use KlarVPN. If the permission is denied, the app can open but it will not be able to bring the VPN tunnel online until the permission is granted.

Create a KlarVPN account

Create an account when you are new to KlarVPN or when you want to use a fresh email address. Your account connects your subscription, tunnel configuration, and device access.

Use the same email address on each personal device where you want to use KlarVPN. This keeps your plan, bandwidth, and account settings tied to one account.

  • Enter your email address.

  • Enter a password.

  • Re-enter the same password in Confirm Password.

  • Tap Sign Up.

  • If the email is invalid, correct the email format and try again.

  • If the account already exists, choose Sign in instead of creating a new account.

  • If the password fields do not match, retype both password fields before submitting.

Create Account

Sign in to an existing account

Sign in when you already have a KlarVPN account. Signing in restores your account status, subscription access, and tunnel information for that device.

Use the same email and password you used when creating the account. If you signed up using a third-party provider such as Google, GitHub, or Apple, sign in with that provider instead of entering a password.

  • Enter your account email.

  • Enter your password.

  • Tap Sign In.

  • If you see “invalid email or password,” check for typing mistakes first.

  • If you forgot your password, use the forgot-password option from the sign-in flow and follow the reset link sent to your email.

  • Never send your password to KlarVPN support.

Welcome Back / Sign In

Connect to the VPN

After setup and sign-in, the VPN tab becomes your main home screen. When KlarVPN is not active, the status reads Disconnected and the large power button is ready to start the VPN tunnel.

Fastest Location is the easiest option for a first connection. KlarVPN selects a healthy server with low latency from your device. You can change the location later if you need a specific region.

1. Open the VPN tab.

2. Keep Fastest Location selected for the first connection, or tap Change to choose a location.

3. Tap the large power button.

4. Keep the app open while the first tunnel is prepared.

Home screen before connecting

While KlarVPN connects

KlarVPN may show a short sequence of connection statuses. This is normal, especially during the first connection, after changing locations, or after recreating the VPN profile.

The exact text can vary depending on what the app is doing at that moment.

  • Requesting tunnel means KlarVPN is asking for your tunnel to be prepared.

  • Creating your private keys means the device is preparing the secure tunnel identity used for the VPN connection.

  • Waiting for your tunnel to come online means the tunnel service is being started and checked.

  • Connecting to a location means it is bringing the VPN session online.

  • If the connection does not complete, check that your internet works without the VPN, then try again.

Connection in progress

Confirm that you are protected

The connection is active when the status reads Protected. At this point, your device traffic is routed through the KlarVPN tunnel and websites should see the VPN IP instead of your normal network IP.

Your device may also show a VPN icon in the system status bar while the connection is active.

  • The map and IP card update to the selected VPN location.

  • The Time Protected card starts tracking protected time.

  • The Transparency Dashboard card updates your session count and continues to show that 0 traffic logs are kept.

  • To disconnect, return to the VPN tab and tap the power button again. KlarVPN may briefly show Disconnecting or Cleaning up previous tunnel.

Protected status

What to do next

Once KlarVPN is connected, you can keep using the internet normally. The app can stay in the background while the VPN remains active. These areas are useful after your first connection.

Change location

Tap Change on the VPN tab to open VPN Locations. Recommended shows the fastest options and All Locations lists every available exit node.

Check technical logs

The Logs tab contains tunnel and system logs. These are not browsing logs. Support may ask for them when diagnosing a connection issue.

Run a speed test

The Speed Test tab checks download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter, and packet loss. If the VPN is connected, the app may ask to disconnect before running the test.

Review privacy status

Open the Transparency Dashboard to see sessions and confirm that KlarVPN is not keeping traffic logs.

Manage account and settings

Use Profile to manage subscription, password, auto-connect, internet kill switch, local network access, sign out, and account deletion.
